One particularly troubling case that’s been highlighted is the handling of the murder of Henry Nowak, a teenager who tragically died after being accused of racism by his killer. This incident has sparked debates about the presence of “two-tier policing” in the UK, a claim that Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has firmly rejected, accusing figures like Nigel Farage of exploiting the tragedy to sow discord. Blunkett, however, acknowledged a noticeable perception among the public, saying, “I think there’s a perception. We’ve moved the pendulum.”
He went on to clarify that the report emphasizes there should be no room for “culture wars” or “woke” ideologies in policing. “It’s not the job of the police to deliver on that,” he asserted.
