Energy Companies Urge Government to Assist Struggling Households Amid Rising Bills

Higher energy bills this winter are pushing many families to the brink, and the energy industry in the UK is sounding the alarm. A representative body for energy firms has stated that the government needs to step in and provide more targeted support for households that are struggling the most. The last time the price cap reached a similarly high level was in July 2023, which still lagged behind the peaks witnessed the previous year due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
